Malatya
Incesu and Malatya are located just above the larger village of Alsancak west of Kyrenia. Incesu is a pretty hillside area whose name translates into ‘thin water’. A little further inland from Incesu you will find the peaceful village of Malatya. Both of the villages are in elevated positions offering stunning views which is something you will come to expect from villages set along the sides of the mountain in North Cyprus. Both these villages offer the perfect location for people wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of town life and an ideal place to relax, and enjoy the Cypriot way of life.

Alsancak
The up and coming village of Alsancak is located just 6 miles west of the centre of Kyrenia. The village certainly has much to offer those who are looking to re-locate to this lovely part of Cyprus. There is a wide variety of restaurants offering both local and international cuisine and a choice of several supermarkets and all other amenities. The village centre itself has some excellent restaurants and bars. The British Academy is also located here, (formerly Sunny Lane School). All this and some spectacular mountain and sea views an authentic village atmosphere and easy access to the local beaches and restaurants. Just a few minutes drive to the local municipality beach and the main coastal road. Not far away is the new by pass junction making fast and easy access to both Kyrenia and Nicosia.

Kyrenia
Kyrenia has often been described as the jewel of Cyprus and is one of the most popular destinations for holiday makers and those wishing to settle here. The calming atmosphere of this beautiful seafront town makes holidaying in Kyrenia a relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable experience. Backed by a fascinating Byzantium castle and five-finger mountain, Kyrenia is a harbour town with a lot to offer its visitors. The old town of Kyrenia is filled with whitewashed buildings and the ruins of walls and towers that once protected this city from attack. For those who love to shop you will not be disappointed, Kyrenia offers a vast array of shopping outlets including a traditional outdoor market that provides everything you could possibly need from Cypriot antiques and souvenirs to designer fashions. In its old days Kyrenia harbour was mainly warehouses where exporters stored the vegetable and fruits of the countryside for shipping. Today, Kyrenia harbour houses fishing boats, yachts, restaurants, gift and souvenir shops as well as cafe bars with tables along the sparkling sea. Kyrenia harbour is a great place for a drink and a meal, do not forget to try Turkish coffee. The coastline of Kyrenia is dotted with numerous beaches which are great to enjoy a day out in the sun. To the South of Kyrenia the beaches include Caravanserai Beach which is a nice sandy beach, Deniz Kizi and Golden Bay beach where they offer water sports, Escape Beach Club with a lot of water sports and good food, Camelot Beach and Sunset Beach Club with a deck, all the beaches are clean and good for snorkelling. Kyrenia is a great place for a beach holiday and houses more than 150 hotels from budget to luxury to choose from, so it is never a hassle to book a hotel in the Kyrenia area. This harbour town also offers numerous restaurants from fine dining to a quick snack.

The Island

Within its boundaries, Cyprus offers a microcosm of history, Cyprus was always a stepping stone to faraway places and culture after culture has left its footprints, and today Cyprus offers an unrivalled mix of landscapes, history and culture. The atmosphere in Northern Cyprus is relaxed and friendly and the people are by nature easygoing and the relentless aggravating hassling of foreigners by street vendors and shop keepers rampant in other parts of the Mediterranean is blissfully absent. In fact you will find that local people go to great lengths to ensure that visitors are happy
Northern Cyprus with its slow development and wide range of natural habitats is home to many species of wildlife, for botanists or birdwatcher it is a treasure trove. Plant species alone number 1,600 with each season bringing a fresh selection of flowers and fruits, Cyprus is also home to 347 species of bird and a variety of snakes and reptiles. Sea turtles attract considerable attention and both the loggerhead and the green turtles journey to Cyprus to lay their eggs on the safe sandy beaches and strict guidelines are in place to protect these beautiful creatures.
