a property in Cyprus for many people is a major financial
consideration and so every one of us will try to ensure that we get the very
best for our money. In many cases this will involve buying a property off plan.
So what does off plan really mean then?
Well it's fairly straightforward - a property developer will sell you his idea
of what the properties will look like when they are finished and complete and
you buy at this first stage of development. The rewards for doing so can mean a
good discount on the completed price but you need to consider a few important
things first.
Buying off plan can be greatly rewarding financially but to
minimise your risk you need to ensure that the property developer has a number
of things in place before parting with your money.
- Ensure planning is in place and been passed - ask for proof
- Does the developer have a Bank Guarantee - this will help to get your money back
if things go wrong
- Does the developer actually own the land?
Property developers in Cyprus are aware of the benefits of selling
property off plan and as such the practice is quite common so don't be worried
